Ralph Lauren Girls Fashion Show
Future style icons took in the designer's Fall and Holiday 2012 show from the front row
The tables were turned yesterday at Ralph Lauren's Madison Avenue headquarters when the city's most glamorous editors, stylists, and socialites took a backseat to their daughters' style. The brand kicked off Fashion Week with their Girl's Fall and Holiday 2012 show, as little style icons—fully decked out in looks from the collection—watched the action from the front row. Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sally Draper on Mad Men, looked adorable in a military jacket and red velvet cargos, while George Stephanopolous and Ali Wentworth's daughters, Harper and Elliott, whispered in each other's ears. Summer Chamblin (June Ambrose's daugter) and Bristol Fales-Hill were also among the countless fashionistas scribbling in their notebooks.
The 46 looks that walked down the runway were classic Ralph Lauren—cool, sophisticated, and wearable. Standout pieces included princess coats with velvet trim, faux fur vests, black varsity jackets paired with floral dresses, leopard hi-tops, officer jackets with gold braids, and a tartan wood-toggled coat. Each model came out to applause, but the room exploded most when Ralph Lauren himself emerged, closing the show hand-in-hand with the youngest of the models. —Ludovica Pellicioli
