Quvenzhané Wallis Wears Armani Junior on the Oscars Red Carpet

Jennifer Lawrence may have won the Oscar for best actress, but the award for cutest celeb at the Academy Awards definitely went to Quvenzhané Wallis. As the star of Beasts of the Southern Wild, Wallis showed great fortitude and control well beyond her years. The grit of her performance at such a young age is why she was nominated for an Oscar alongside Hollywood leading ladies Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts. Fashion critics may have adored their Dior Haute Couture and Armani Privé gowns, but here at Elizabeth Street we were completely enamored by Wallis’s navy blue Armani Junior dress. With her custom-made Yorkshire Terrier bag, by Poochie & Co., Wallis waltzed down the Oscars red carpet with the same poise as Lena Horne. Her glittered shoes and headband was a great compliment to all the sparkles that were sprinkled throughout her dress and was a definite highlight during this awards show season. As her mom said on the runway, “She likes to take the pictures and she like to take the interviews.” And with her choice taste in dresses, she’ll be ready for all the flashing light bulbs for many years to come. —Barry Samaha
