PINK CLOTHING ISN'T JUST FOR LITTLE GIRLS THIS FALL

Aug 06, 2013

Pink Clothing Isn't Just for Little Girls This Fall

“Pink is the navy blue of India,” explained fashion editor Diana Vreeland. As common as pink is in India, navy blue is even more ubiquitous in America, especially in a professional setting. But this fall designers are taking a page from Vreeland by introducing the idea that pink clothing can be perfect for the work force.

The lightness of the pale hue have made pink a symbol of a carefree summer atmosphere. But why stop there? Despite common belief, pink can be worn all year round. That’s right, you can look professional in pink. A fun-and-flirty pink dress, when paired with a structured blazer, is not only work appropriate but will also stand out amongst the sea of navy and black.

“Pink will prevail,” said Christian Dior. And judging by the collections at Simone Rocha, Michael Kors and Nina Ricci, the color certainly has taken hold in our zeitgeist.
