Ruth Waddingham is a graphic designer and mom of three-year-old Jack. She is also the founder of Zip Baby, an adorable line of baby onesies with eye-catching color schemes and adorable characters. And unlike most rompers, Waddingham’s collection of one-pieces includes zippers giving moms greater ease to dressing their little ones.
Elizabeth Street: How would you describe your style?
Ruth Waddingham: "I don't have time to dress up everyday so I shop for comfortable clothes and try to mix it with a few unique pieces that will add interest and creativity. I like witty pieces, pops of color and red shoes."
ES: How has being a mom changed your style?
RW: "The days of browsing several stores are gone so I skim-shop (standing in one spot and scanning the entire room before walking in any direction). My style has become more practical and somewhat predictable."
ES: If you could have one designer dress you for the rest of your life, who would it be?
RW: "Kate Spade."
ES: Are there any moms whose style you really admire?
RW: "Rachel Zoe. But then again, she does it for a living."
