Sasha Adler’s job as design director for Nate Berkus Associates is (beyond) enviable. And so is her classic style. The Chicago mom says she lives in dresses paired with sandals, such as the Isabel Marant lace dress and Alaïa sandals pictured here. Two-year-old Harper Elliot, meanwhile, has a bohemian style that’s more sass than sweet. “She will wear dresses, but never too frilly, and I shop for her in the boys department.”

What are your favorite pieces in Harper’s wardrobe?

Her Bonpoint dresses, army parka with a fur hood, boy's Fisherman sweater, and ballet flats.

Are there any moms whose style you really admire? 

Lauren Santo Domingo, Jenna Lyons, and Aerin Lauder. They have a defined, chic style that they have not given up since becoming moms.

A classic Alaïa dress (always on the list), a large, vintage Chanel tote (for carrying everything when traveling with my daughter), great flat boots for fall, and a Bottega Veneta jumpsuit.
