Berlin mom Bettina Otto’s style changes in accordance to the occasion and her mood. Brands like J. Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, and Hoss Intropia make up a portion of her wardrobe, but she also likes Scandinavian designers “with their soft colors and little touches.” For cocktail hour, Dr. Otto dons dresses from the ’50s, ’60, and ’70s, most of them purchased from Sterling Gold vintage store or passed down from her mother.

How has being a mother changed your style?

Being a mom hasn’t really changed my style, but all the traveling my husband and I do inspires me a lot. I love buying clothes from all over the world.

Are there any moms whose style you really admire? 

I like the way Gwyneth Paltrow dresses: easy going, clean, and stylish.

Describe your son’s (Caspar Julius, 6) style.

Caspar wears polo shirts in all colors with jeans or shorts and sneakers. He wears OshKosh, Gap, Mini Boden, and Polo Ralph Lauren most of the time.
