GRACE COWAN

OCCUPATION: Event Producer at ShowCobra and founder of Birthday Buds.

MY STYLE: I call it Downtown Mom: boyfriend jeans, a t-shirt, and flats are what I wear for most of the day, and then I slip into skinny jeans, heels, a silk shirt, and a some jewelry for a dinner or concert out at night. My color palette doesn’t change.  I stick to grays, browns, black, and white.

I LOVE NEW YORK BECAUSE: It's really just a small town with a whole lot of people in it! There are endless things to do for both kids and adults, you can have anything delivered day or night, and I love that finger-on-the-pulse-of-the-world feeling you get when you live here.

Morandi

This cute, cozy spot from restaurateur Keith McNally (of Balthazar and Pastis fame) embodies plenty of old world charm—think 150-year-old floor tiles and distressed wood. "No matter how many kids you have in tow, they always smile when you walk in!" says Blythe Harris. The whole family will love the meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, and fried artichoke with lemon.

Washington Square Park

Washington Square may be brimming with students from the neighboring New York University, but all ages are welcome in this culturally astute park. Little ones love the playground and the gaggle of musicians and artists, while moms enjoy the pristine setting and European feel—the Washington Arch is, after all, modeled after Paris’s Arc de Triumph. In the summer, Mario Batali’s Otto Enoteca & Pizzeria sets up a cart of the chef’s famed gelato.

Equinox

Each location of this fabulous chain feels more like a spa than a gym. With Kiehl's products in the showers and cool, eucalyptus-scented towels near the treadmills, this place will make even the most workout-reluctant eager to hit the weights. Some locations even have a Kids Club run by Citibabes, so you can relax and enjoy the steam rooms and spin classes without getting a babysitter.

The New York Palace Hotel

This landmark Midtown hotel boasts incredible views of St. Patrick's cathedral. Steps from great shopping, it also boasts a full service spa and fitness center, plus a Michelin-starred restaurant, GILT. Mom Grace Cowan loves to escape to the Palace for a once-a-year "overnight date" with her husband, to indulge in the wonderful rooms and fantastic room service.

James Perse

Who doesn't admire the cool and clean California style of James Perse? Their Bleecker Street store is filled with their signature perfect-fit tees and much more. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and it's next to a ton of other great shops. There's a wonderful children's playground across the street, so this is a must stop spot when out and about in the West Village with your little one!
