'Modern Family' & 'The Brady Bunch' Are Perfect Examples for Step-Parents
Preparing to blend two families together is a less-than-easy task, to put it lightly. Luckily, we’re here to help with the coping process. In honor of National Stepfamilies Day (on September 16), we’re offering up some advice for all those soon-to-be step-parents out there. What better way to put your mind at ease as you prepare to don your new domesticated cap than to indulge in a little reassuring escapism?
Sure, step-parents have gotten a bad rap over the years when it comes to television and especially the movies (think of the over-the-top homicidial thriller The Stepfather and Ofelia’s villainous Vidal in Pan’s Labyrinth), but the stereotype is literally the stuff of fairytales. Remind yourself of this by kicking back with a glass of vino and some popcorn and these parents of the small and big screen who make blending a family look...not easy, but definitely well within the realm of imagination.
