These 10 Mother's Day Gift Ideas Are Epic Fails
"Oh, you don't have to get me anything," my mom tells me year after year--every time Christmas, her birthday, and finally Mother's Day rolls around. I know she's just being nice though; what woman doesn't appreciate a gorgeous piece of jewelry or a pretty new bag in honor of her special day?
The tricky part, of course, is finding just the right gift, and while the aforementioned treasures will almost always fit the bill, they don't always agree with my challenging budget. My limitations leave me to find a gift mom will adore without going broke or allowing a glimmer of disappointment cross her face. And while I may still be pondering this year's just-right Mom's Day present, there's one thing I do know, and that's what not to get the lovely lady in my life. Worse perhaps than forgoing a gift altogether is choosing a super lame or last-minute gift lacking in thought and care. A card embossed with a sweet note and enclosed with a pair of Broadway tickets equals good gift. A handmade card made from construction paper can be a sweet touch, but not if it's accompanying a "hug coupon" packaged in recycled gift wrap.
