A DIY Thanksgiving Napkin Ring That Does Double Duty This Holiday Season

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas will be here before you know it. With the holidays so close together, you may be looking for d├ęcor that can serve double duty. These DIY napkin rings are sure to give your table a rustic, yet festive look for the holidays. This easy craft is versatile enough for both holidays and all that's necessary is wood slices and chalkboard paint.

The wood slices are simply tied around a napkin using twine. In addition, the mini chalkboard on the wood slices allows you to easily switch up the illustration/message from Thanksgiving to Christmas. You can also write a guest's name on it to use as a place card. But wait, there's more! The wood slice doesn't need to be reserved for your table setting. It could be used as an ornament or even tied to a present as a gift tag. Who knew that a little wood slice could do so much?!

Wood Slice Napkin Rings

Materials:

woodslices from a branch (I used Birch), chalkboard paint and fine paint brush, drill and twine

How To:
1. Drill a small hole at the top of the wood slice large enough for your twine to fit through.
2. Draw a circle on one side of the wood slice using a pencil and then paint the circle with chalkboard paint using a fine brush.
3. Cut a piece of twine and thread it through your drilled hole.
*always follow manufacturers safety instructions when using power tools.
