Founded by two Frenchmen, Ode à la Rose is an online premium florist that delivers rose bouquets to New Yorkers, each one lovingly designed by masters of French bouquet design. Emily Cassignac, a Brooklyn mom by way of France, began working for the company as the marketing and communications manager last October. “Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted to become a florist,” she says, “I was fascinated by the scent and colors in the neighborhood flower shop.”

And just in time for Valentine’s Day, Cassignac shares her tips on the perfect bouquet for every loved one on your list.
What is your favorite variety of rose?
I am in love with the natural and raw look of yellow spray roses.
What is your dream Valentine’s Day bouquet?
I want to be wowed! I am thinking 100 red and pink roses (hopefully my husband is reading this).
What is the perfect Valentine’s bouquet for… The man in your life?
Seven red roses. Not too girly—and great for his desk.
Your mother?
An arrangement of garden roses and peonies, because they deserve the best!
A sister, or sister-in-law?
24 yellow or gold roses in a tin pail.
A single friend?
Pink roses in a mason jar because my single friends are hot and trendy!
