Bedroom Decorating Ideas That'll Make You Swoon
Architectural details are something we'd all love to have in our humble abodes. Think tin ceilings, wainscoting, and exposed brick--all of which are really expensive (tin ceiling is around $40 a square foot, plus the labor). Reclaimed barn wood is also really en vogue right now, but it costs a pretty penny to source it. You may want your own library, but you live in a studio...and you don't have that many books. More than anything, most of us rent, and don't want to spend the money to install these expensive interior decor features, only to move out a year later.
But you can get the look without all the hassle. Susie Kurkowski, our favorite interior design expert and owner of Items of Interest, gave us a solution: wallpaper, but not just any wallpaper: "renters wallpaper." The new generation of wall design comes in the form of a giant sticker. This decor is ideal for kids, who can get a decal, which can change as their interests change. For grownups, the thought of painting an accent wall is overwhelming, but not when it's just a giant sticker. It has dimension and warmth, and it comes in rolls just like wallpaper.
