Eat Just Like Ben Affleck For Batman Day
Today is "Holy _____, Batman" Day. We couldn't make this up if we tried! To celebrate, we're skipping the cape and going straight for the superhero cuisine, courtesy of Gotham's new Dark Knight, Ben Affleck, and his wife, Jennifer Garner.
"I love to cook," Garner told Self. "It's my stay-healthy secret. Making a simple dinner actually calms me down after a harried day. Often I'll spend Sunday nights cooking and then use the leftovers for lunch that week. Right now, I'm really into cooking with orzo. It's a light, rice-shaped pasta that fills me up. I especially love this recipe because the orzo goes well with the shrimp and veggies, and it's quick and easy to make."
So if you're training to fight crime, or just need super fuel while running after the little ones, this protein-packed, healthy dish will be your secret weapon. As for all that "Batfleck" backlash? The Oscar-winner recently told Jimmy Fallon that "every kid should see their dad as a superhero."
Watch the complete Late Night interview below while you whip up the power couple's signature dish. And if you're having trouble getting your kids to clear their plates, just tell them Batman eats it. Works every time.
