What You Really Need To Pack In Your 'Baby's Coming' Hospital Bag

Expectant moms, take note: that checklist you got at your birthing class, the one that tells you what you should bring to the hospital? It's only half the truth. Yes, you'll need some comfy clothes and sure, soothing tunes are theoretically a good idea. But when push comes to shove, so to speak, there are quite a few quirky add-ins that only moms who have emerged from the other side of labor, delivery and more than a few nights in an uncomfortable hospital bed can recommend.

From the lack of finesse and style that hospital amenities offer to the plain old discomfort you can experience postpartum, it can be a sad state of affairs if you don't plan well. So don't get so hung up on those snacks (umpteen visitors mean lots of take-out requests and yummy homemade treats) and focus on the stuff that will offer you real comfort when you will need it and appreciate it most.

Click through the slideshow above for our picks for pampering treats to tote along when the big day finally arrives.
