Postcard from Marrakesh
Parisian interior designer, and Elizabeth Street Mom, Clelia D’Aulan Benenati has been visiting Marrakesh for over 20 years, making it one of her favorite vacation destinations. “Marrakesh is great for kids because of the wonderful weather and activities for children—plus the people are very friendly,” she says. Situated at the foot of the High Atlas mountain range with the desert to its south, Benenati enjoys that you can “eat breakfast by the pool, and one hour later, be skiing on top of the Atlas.” After shopping in the local markets souks—she takes her two children, Matteo, 7, and Giada, 6, on a tour of the city on, what else? A camel. Here are a few of her must-see stops in Marrakesh that keep her coming back for more. —Anne Ichikawa
