An Awesome Book of Thanks

By Dallas Clayton

Dallas Clayton fills the long, skinny pages of his book with bright and meticulous drawings of the things he is thankful for. Whether trees, friends, wizards, girelephants or books, the drawings invite us to look around and remember how lucky we are. Claytonʼs enthusiasm spills out of every page, but his voice is most sincere when he appreciates the tough things, like “places to go when you want to cry” or “bad things” and “bumps and bruises that turn couldntʼs to coulds”. This book about gratitude is all show and no lecture. Like Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein before him, Clayton understands that sharing your unbridled imagination with children is more than enough.
